2022 Summer Encampment
We had some incredible challenges we had to overcome this year to successfully execute this program.
The unexpected heat conditions which developed that forced a change in billeting for safety reasons, a visit from the President of the United States to the facility and the considerable amount of time we had to invest in showers every day created situations unlike any I have ever encoutered during my years with the encampment program.
Even considering these challenges we were able to successfully complete it, with over 80 students that graduated, and multiple staff training opportunities for both cadets and senior members.
Between students, and staff, we had several states represented this year. NM, CO, AZ, TX, SC and TN were all present this year, which brought a significant amount of knowledge from several different wings to our state.
Even with the challenges we were able to successfully execute this program with zero injuries occurring during the program, which is another element that is unheard of in my experience! Everyone who was present at the New Mexico Encampment, staff and students alike, was critical to this level of success.
Thank you to everyone who was involved this year (staff, students and parents). Without those efforts our program would not have been possible this year.
